Byron did his degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at JKUAT.
Never practiced, rather, somewhere along that line found code and has been practicing that to date.
Both as his main source of income and on his side projects.
Electrical engineering to software developer/data scientist.
Byron has been working on LexAi,
A simple way for our learned friends (lawyers) to gain more knowledge into Kenyan law.
To find out anything that has happened within the judiciary scene as far judgements, sentencing and any decisions that have been made within real actual court and parliament proceedings.
LexAi is for both practicing lawyers and our friends in university/law school who are not yet learned but are looking to get there soon.
There is Ai flying everywhere today, niching down is what makes a product stand out, this is exactly what Byron is doing.
Especially after last yearβs protest when Kenyans started to become more interested in what happens within our courts and parliament.
Building the product is rarely the hard part (it is hard), but getting users is always harder.
Byron had other thoughts. Instead of going the traditional way of trying to find users online, he went straight to where lawyers reside, the football field.

Why? Because lawyers have to debate, if not about law then football does suffice, hehe. I kid.
Byron knew a lawyer who knew other lawyers who also enjoyed playing football in their free time just like he did.
So he sponsored one of their teamβs shirts and of course they had to ask who the new baller in town was.
This move definitely led to more conversation. This is how LexAi got its first 90 users with a number of them waiting for V2 which they helped shape (user feedback) and willing to pay for.
Watch the full interview here to learn more unconventional ways on how to get your first solid users for that cool product you are working on.
